The sculptures are happy to be back home in Tobago
At the end of 2012 Luise Kimme shipped 36 original wood sculptures from her Kimme Museum in Tobago to Germany for an exhibition in Wuppertal. This was for an exhibition at the Kunstakademie, Düsseldorf where she used to teach. The Kunstakademie had an exhibition of 50 years of retrospective works by artists of North Rhine-Westphalia of all the different disciplines. Luise took part in The Sculptures exhibition. This was the first time that Luise was able to exhibit her Tobago collection in Germany. She was unable to attend this very important exhibition because she was already ailing and was unable to make the trip.
The day she died she received the news that her collection would subsequently be shown at the Waldfrieden Sculpture Park -:25 October 2014 - 11 January 2015
