Art in Cuba

I work in a ceramic workshop in Santiago de Cuba, the Metalworkshop is in the same garden, upstairs are the painters' studios and in the foyer is a gallery.

It is fascinating for me to work among these outstanding and very friendly artists; I work every day from 8am until 2 pm, then I take a dance class from different dancers.

Duniesky, a young very talented sculptor, did 6 lost wax casts for me in bronze and also made bronzes from some of the ceramic sculptures. All the sculptors cast their creations in bronze and Lescay has made his huge monuments in a foundry not too far from Santiago de Cuba. I shall look into all of that and although after a week in Cuba, I want to go home to Tobago, when here, I can't wait to work in Cuba again. I have begun to buy work from the artists.
